Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2015: 130 Photos From 2 Nights Including Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular

Hi everyone!

We attended the first two Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights and already have an article with tips (which I will be adding to over the next day). The Party is very different than the last number of years, in large part due to the new Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. Here are photos and video from both nights – about 130 photos over 2 pages! This is our 9th year covering the Party (we paid our own way).

Before reading our article, here is our Mousesteps Weekly YouTube Show #160. We give Party info and tips!

On the second night, guests were receiving a treat bag before entering into the park. During the first Party, the location was under the tunnels (as in previous years).

It was less hectic to receive it here than in the tunnel.

Guests purchasing the Happy HalloWishes Dessert Party can look for this sign.

Cast Members were handing out wristbands beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The first Party was sold out, likely due to it being two weeks later than last year plus the addition of the new Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. The Friday Party was busy but tickets were still available.

We picked up a guide map, which I very much recommend perusing before the Party officially begins. Times have changed considerably this year.

The Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Halloween Party spell card is available at 4:00 p.m. This souvenir card is complimentary for guests attending the Party.

New this year, guests of Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party can purchase merchandise at 4:00 p.m. Wristbands are checked in the Emporium.

This new Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular shirt sold out the first night. We were told then that no more were coming, but then were told there would be more at later dates and that guests could bring their proof of Party attendance (wristband) and purchase one later. So we’ll see what happens! There are different limited release Hocus Pocus t-shirts at Disney Parks online through September 27th, but they aren’t Party related.

This is the official Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party shirt, it glows in the dark.

The sweatshirt also glows in the dark.

It rained prior to our first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party night, but cleared up in time for the beginning.

These pumpkins always make for festive photos.

Jeff wore his new shirt on the second Party day.

There are specialty pins as well.

We purchased the candy corn ice cream treat.

This can be found at Storybook Treats.

Candy corn is inside the base.

We didn’t do much trick or treating either night, but we recommend the Enchanted Tiki Room location. It has 4 treat barrels in quick succession. Look for these lit balloons for treat stations! The Splash Mountain location wasn’t worth visiting, it is no longer a trail and was a bit out of our way.

Werthers has moved across from the Little Mermaid attraction.

On the first Party day we waited early for Jack and Sally, the second we waited early for the Seven Dwarfs. We actually planned to see Pooh and Friends instead of the Seven Dwarfs, but there was no line yet when we arrived for the Halloween versions. So we got in line at about 6:10 p.m. for Seven Dwarfs, and they arrived at 6:50 p.m. We were done at 7:10 p.m., with just a one hour wait and not much Party time used up. The line grew considerably as we waited, and the Seven Dwarfs take much longer breaks than Jack and Sally.

The Seven Dwarfs arrive.

Dopey.

It was well worth the hour to meet them!

Here is our video with the Seven Dwarfs.

We waited about 15 minutes for Lots-o-Huggin’ Bear, who was meeting in Tomorrowland near Buzz Lightyear.

Jeff checked Lotso to see if he smelled like strawberries in this video.

On our first night, we met Jack and Sally. They arrived at 6:20 p.m. We were in line at 5:30 p.m. and waited until about 7:10 p.m. to meet them.

It is always worth the wait! We recommend that if meeting Jack and Sally or the Seven Dwarfs, to be in the Magic Kingdom early and in line at least one hour prior to their arrival. If you really want to meet both sets of characters, I recommend getting in line very early for Jack and Sally in Storybook Circus, then head over to the Seven Dwarfs immediately after this meet and greet.

Here is our meet and greet with Jack and Sally!

Monsters, Inc. lighting was again at the entrance to Tomorrowland.

Space Mountain had some coloring, but nothing too exciting. I miss the spider.

Party!

The only dance party this year is in Tomorrowland with the characters from Monsters, Inc. Nothing is in the Golden Horseshoe.

Sully danced with guests.

Star Traders also had Monsters, Inc. theming.

We photographed Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade three times. Twice we were in Town Square, which is the furthest part of the parade route. Then we were in Frontierland, which was the closest. The Creepa Crew entertains on Main Street with Phineas and Ferb while guests wait.

Gepetto was hard to capture on the camera (he moved quite a lot), but I liked his mask the best.

After the first parade, we went straight to Talking Mickey Mouse. He is dressed in his Halloween costume and might even tell you a Halloween joke!

He was teaching me a mind trick.
