Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2014: 200 Photos and Video From the First Party

The first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was held yesterday! We have about 200 photos along with videos over 2 pages. We were asked several times if we were going to do the Villainous Soiree, but that isn’t in the plans this season. There are some changes to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party since last year, and we had a nice time with the very low crowds of the first night. This was our 8th year covering the Party. We just posted an article with our tips to enjoy the Party too!

We arrived just after 4:00 p.m. to the toll booth. The Party starts at 7:00 p.m., but guests can start entering 3 hours earlier. The large inflatable Mickey and Minnie pumpkins are back!

Tickets were available to the Party.

We’ve already shared these pumpkins in another article, they were moved from directly in front of the train station in previous years to outside the gates this year.

Many guests were dressed up. It used to be that earlier Parties didn’t have so many guests dressed, but that has changed through the years.

Cast Members were ready with wristbands.

It was just starting to rain when we arrived, and we ducked under the archway.

Pumpkins can be purchased for kids, but bags are free.

We had a bit of a rain shower before the Party, but it cleared up in plenty of time. Town Square looked beautiful with fewer guests.

Before 7:00 p.m., Magic Kingdom day guests mix with Party guests.

We picked up our Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom card, which is available early.

We decided to wait for Jack and Sally, a meet & greet that was still 90 minutes away. We were near the front of the line. The line for Jack and Sally was not long later in the evening, around the time of the second parade. They were as great as always!

We received this autograph card from the meet & greet with Jack and Sally’s signature.

The Hatbox Ghost Mickey popcorn bucket is the same as last year.

New for this year, Halloween balloons that include Jack Skellington.

I had about 15 minutes before it was time to line up for the first Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade, so I went around the park a bit.

Autumn decorations adorn the Liberty Tree Tavern.

I popped into The Diamond Horseshoe to check out Club Villain. It was a lot of fun, an upgrade from the previous dance party with Woody, Jessie and Bullseye.

We will have more photos later, but here is Cruella looking villainous!

We do have a video of Club Villain. It turns out, Drizella is quite the dancer!

We didn’t do much trick or treating yesterday, but I did head down to the Liberty Belle for a few pieces of candy. Adults and kids can trick or treat.

Fog rises from the Haunted Mansion.

The Haunted Mansion Cast Members are terrific!

Madame Carlotta is always a hoot.

The pet cemetary was nicely lit. Mr. Toad came back recently from a few months away.

Werthers Original is back again this year at Pinnochio’s.

Anna and Elsa were only a 10 minute wait when I walked by.

A Cast Member wears both an Olaf hat and Maleficent horns. A fun mash-up!

Lights were turned on at Main Street when I returned.

A spider pumpkin arrived since my pumpkin article.

It was still somewhat light out when we started waiting for the parade.

Scarecrows at Town Square were glowing.

Main Street and Cinderella Castle were bathed in green at this moment. The colors do change continually throughout the evening. This was the best we’ve ever seen the lighting on Main Street.

Darkness arrived just as the parade did.

The Headless Horseman arrives to Town Square about 15 minutes before Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade. See the parade in Frontierland if you want to save some time!

The Creepa Crew with Phineas and Ferb now spans the length of the parade route.

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade!

There were rumors that the Pooh characters would not be part of the parade, but they are. The tree float is gone, along with Roo and Kanga – but Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and Tigger are in their rightful place with other characters.

The masks are different than last year, I love the Mad Hatter’s Chesire Cat mask! Alice has a White Rabbit mask.

Tigger’s mask looks like a bat.

I’m not quite sure what is around Pluto’s head.

The Mickey Mouse float always includes Minnie, Daisy and Donald.

This Pirate float is a little different in that Peter, Wendy and the Lost Boys are on it. Wendy is tied up.

Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow are back. Barbossa used to walk on the street and greet guests, but I think this is the second year he hasn’t.

There is always a pirate enjoying the loot!

The Haunted Mansion caretaker and his dog are followed closely by the grave diggers.

One of our favorite parts of Mickey’s Boo-to-You Parade is the grave diggers.

The Haunted Mansion gravestones include Madame Leota.

Hitchhiking Ghosts.

This part of the parade is different than previous years. The cowboys and cowgirls used to be separated, now they dance together. The outfits are different too.
