Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort 2019 Chocolate Easter Egg Display Includes “Coco”, “Dumbo”, “Mary Poppins” Themes

Disney’s Grand Floridian has its annual chocolate Easter Egg Display up! As always, the eggs are mostly 16-20 inches high and weigh 9-12 pounds. What is new this year is that Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer is at the helm after Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek retired last year. She put her own stamp on Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House this year and there are and will be some changes to the egg display this year. First, it is up for a full 4 weeks as opposed to between 2 and 3 weeks. Second, the new eggs are completely up front and the returning eggs are elsewhere in the lobby. And Disney’s Grand Floridian will be selling Easter treats unlike in the past (at the concierge desk nearby). That was supposed to start on the first day of the display but they were unable to. As soon as we find out that the treats are being sold, we will add that to the article.

There is a wide variety of new eggs this year, which include 101 Dalmatians, Dumbo, Mary Poppins Returns and the Epcot ride Grand Fiesta Tour represented. We have been sharing the displays since the first year in 2012! In the 15 years prior to that, the eggs were made for restaurant display only.

While we were there, Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer and the pastry team gathered for photos near the eggs.

I always enjoy seeing the new eggs, the pastry team is very creative!

There are a few non-Disney eggs, including this beautiful Starry Night (Van Gogh) egg.

Of all the eggs, one of my personal favorites is the Coco egg.

There is a princess themed egg. Cinderella’s slipper and a Tangled lantern are on the front.

These are eggs that have been here in other years. Many are from last year. I am not spending as much time on them because they’ve been featured here before.

This egg has been here for several years, Lady and the Tramp. The egg sits in a bowl of spaghetti.

There is someone who works on the pastry team who makes exquisite animals. This elephant has been here previously and is gorgeous.
