First Topiaries for Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival 2019 Spring Up, Including Anna & Elsa, Mickey & Minnie

Hi everyone!

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is less than 2 weeks away, it begins March 6th, 2019 (and lasts through June 3rd). Both flower quilts are now planted and the first topiaries sprung up yesterday – with many more today. It is always exciting for me to see favorite topiaries and new ones as they are added in advance of the festival. Here is a look at the topiaries so far! We plan to stop by tomorrow and anything new I will add to the article. We have a preview next week and then I will write up a tips article after the first official day. The popular Disney-Pixar Miguel puppet will also begin on March 6th at the Mexico pavilion and I recommend stopping to see him!

Today was a little cloudy with some rain, which made for an interesting backdrop to the very bright flower quilt. The quilt will be changed out at least once during the three months of the festival.

Yesterday we found the panda topiaries in China, they were the first and only topiaries on Wednesday.

The pandas are often in this location during the festival.

The Elsa and Anna topiaries are out for the 5th year! It is hard to believe Frozen has been around that long now, and there will be more interest as the new Frozen 2 opens later this year (22 November 2019). These topiaries had the next generation faces from the beginning of their existence, as opposed to Snow White and Belle.

Anna is next to Elsa.

The characters can again be found in the Norway pavilion.

The troll is also back in Norway.

Mickey and Minnie are taking over in the location where Woody has been for years in the America pavilion. Woody will be part of the Toy Story 4 topiary display in Future World, where Bo Peep and her sheep will be new additions. Also new this year, according to the Disney Rewards Insider (for Disney Visa card holders) will be Kermit on a topiary bike. I can’t wait to see all the new additions!

Mickey and Minnie are in front of the festival kiosk.

In the United Kingdom, Pooh and friends have changed locations. They are in front of the Sportsman’s Shoppe in the United Kingdom, which is a terrific backdrop with better lighting than where they’ve been.

Winnie the Pooh holds his balloon.

Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore are nearby.

Looking from further back, with Rabbit and Pooh in view.

Peter Pan is again on the ground with Captain Hook this year.

The Shakespeare Garden will again be back, with the bust of William Shakespeare already set.

The United Kingdom teacups are also out, though not with tea plants in them yet.

And orchids appeared at the Mexico pavilion, those are always a nice diversion at the festival.

Will you be visiting during the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival? We will have much more to share in the coming weeks!
