Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Construction Update as 15-Story Tower is Being Built, May 2018
Hi everyone!
Our last update on the tower construction at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort was in February, and I went back on yet another grey and rainy day to continue with some photos of the tower as it is being built. The new 15-story tower will include 500 guest rooms with concierge level services and suites, along with a rooftop restaurant. It is scheduled to open next year and will bring the total number of rooms across 27 resorts to about 30,000. There are other changes happening around the resort as well. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has never been a typical moderate resort, with a number of services including a fitness center and more restaurant variety to cater to the large convention crowd.
According to Disney, “…the expansion brings a new boardroom, event lawn, and two multi-purpose meeting rooms—adding to the resort’s current 220,000 square feet of dedicated meeting, event and exhibition space.
Each of the resort’s existing Guest rooms are also being fully re-imagined with new features and amenities that appeal to savvy business travelers, such as a new desk space, beverage station and more. When complete, Guests will be able to conveniently connect to other areas of the resort via a series of bridges and walkways that pass through an island oasis.”
Here are photos from a couple of days ago without a lot more text.

I went into the lobby and took a photo of the Mickey in lights.
There is also work right now at the Pepper Market.
Here is one last look from the bus stop.
We will head back sometime this summer, probably July after all our travel is complete to share updated photos!
