Splitsville Luxury Lanes Opens in Downtown Disney Anaheim at the Disneyland Resort (Photos, Video from Grand Opening)
Hi everyone!
Splitsville Luxury Lanes recently celebrated five years at Walt Disney World, and now its newest location is open at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District just a few minutes walk from the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks! This is the first California location for the company. Splitsville is one of a number of new venues that will be part of the transformation of Downtown Disney in the next few years and – if the Disney Springs location is any indicator – a popular one. Prior to the grand opening, Splitsville had been in soft opening for a number of weeks. But before we take a look inside this new location, we’ll share a little of the grand opening ceremony with Goofy demonstrating “How to Bowl”.

Here is our video that includes most of the ceremony, followed by the article. And honestly, even if you aren’t heading to Anaheim right now, Goofy is a lot of fun to watch in this throwback style bowling tutorial.
Disneyland Resort Ambassador Alexa Garcia hosted the ceremony, making mention of Splitsville’s 20 lanes. She introduced “bowling expert” Goofy, who was wearing a bowling costume with jacket emblazoned on the back with his name. Just as in the classic animated short cartoons, Goofy demonstrated his bowling technique with a voice-over narration. But when it came to actually knocking the honorary pins down, it was co-owner Guy Revelle that did the honors with co-owner Mark Gibson nearby. Gibson called Splitsville a “carnival ride of options”. He continued, “There’s something for everyone, whether you’re 7 or 70. Whether it’s kids, families, conventioneers”.
Goofy posed with Gibson, Revelle, Jillian DeKunder (Director of Aliiances & Operating Participants) and Downtown Disney General Manager Brent Davies.
The bowling lanes are on both floors, and there are four murals by artist Matt Callahan, who has painted the various Splitsville murals for about fifteen years. Gibson and Revelle worked with WDI and Disneyland executives to add some Disney into two of the murals (“in an understated way”, Gibson told us), and one of those can be seen in the orange to the right.
Here is a look at the mural closer.
There is also a California state flag mural.
When we asked what some of the differences were between the Anaheim and Orlando locations, we were told that the lanes are a little more divided up. Not only that, but the Orlando location is bigger (formerly a Virgin Megastore many years ago). Gibson also told us that, “This is a little more refined, a little more California cool”. There is also a “big, dramatic dining room, and we put a lot of focus on the front patio because there’s so much traffic walking by to the parks and back and forth to the hotel and parking. There’s live music every day on the front patio”.
Mickey and Minnie are on bowling balls, just like at the Walt Disney World location.
Other balls are Splitsville themed.
A highlight on the second floor is this wonderful view of the monorail gliding by.
Gibson said, “We really want the restaurant and the dining side to shine first, and people will find the bowling a nice little suprise when you work your way through”.
The dining aspect of Splitsville is very popular in Disney Springs, as much or more so than the bowling. Our correspondent enjoyed sampling some items, with the highlight for him being the pizza and sliders.
There are 10 pizza varieties listed on the menu, including the pepperoni pizza below.
The menu is pretty extensive and offers several types of sliders – including filet and cheeseburger sliders. Sushi is also a popular item at Splitsville.
This is a look at the menu in several photos, but you can download full resolution from the Splitsville website.
Guests can purchase a bowling pin souvenir sipper.
Here is a look at one dining area.
This mural is a nod to Orange County.
We look forward to visiting ourselves next month!
