Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Photo Update as Disney’s Riviera Resort is Being Built – February 2018
Hi everyone!
I stopped at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort over the weekend to check out the construction as Disney’s Riviera Resort is being built. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has been undergoing renovations at Old Port Royale with the food court and Shutters restaurant being closed – as the whole building has been. Plus, Disney’s Riviera Resort is taking up where Barbados and part of Martinique were for the new 300 room Disney Vacation Club resort. You can see what Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort looked like in my 2015 photo walk. The Disney Skyliner is also under construction at the resort area, which will transport guests from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Disney’s Riviera Resort will be the Disney Vacation Club’s 15th resort, with most being at Walt Disney World. It will also have a rooftop restaurant.

The construction can be seen from just off the Fuentes del Morro pool.
The lighthouse is visible within the construction area.
These are a few photos of Disney’s Riviera Resort under construction.
It was harder to see Old Port Royale construction and I didn’t want to take photos while guests were in the pool area.

The Banana Cabana Bar is in a truck, with guests able to enjoy seating here.

Items for sale include a Purple Martin and Captain’s Mai Tai.
Centertown is the main food location, with a buffet but also a counter service area.
The buffet entrance is here.
And items that can currently be purchased outside are a Bacon Angus Cheeseburger and Barbecued Pulled Pork Hoagie.
There are also salads noted for lunch.
Guests can still enjoy the white sandy beaches.
Med Fresh Taverna had a food truck here. I don’t know if it is here every day, but it was a nice option for food.
