Disney’s Contemporary Gingerbread Display Offers Cinderella Theme This Year

Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a Cinderella themed gingerbread display this year, the fourth different display I have photographed at the resort since starting Mousesteps. Back in 2008, the theme was Pinocchio and it was completely different than anything since then. A Mary Blair themed gingerbread confection soon followed, and then Frozen and now Cinderella Castle with smaller Cinderella and Prince Charming gingerbread figures. The last three themes have had a lot of similarities. The display is in a different location and can be easy to miss – it is next to Fantasia Market and not up against the Mary Blair mural. This year, some favorite gingerbread and other types of treats are back but also there are a few new items. Here is a look at the display with more information, it is 18 feet tall and designed by Pastry Chef Jeff Barnes and his team. This is the second display we’ve visited, we have Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House with the grand opening celebration here.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort Gingerbread display has 17 hidden Mickeys, 560 pounds of honey, 428 eggs, 998 pounds flour, 62 pounds gingerbread spices, 212 pounds sugar syrup, 199 pounds royal icing, 417 pounds chocolate, and over 1400 gingerbread bricks! 10 bakery Cast Members took a week to assemble it.
