Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Get in the Holiday Spirit with Chocolate Santa Display, Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa & Mrs. Claus

Hi everyone!

Holiday offerings at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin are in full swing, from the lifesize Santa display at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel to the beautiful (and fun) tree lighting ceremony at the Dolphin! Here is a look at what you can find this season.

The Swan and Dolphin are “Santa’s Favorite Resort“.

Inside the Swan Hotel, the yearly chocolate Santa display added a Nutcracker last year. It always smells heavenly! The angel that tops the tree was also added last year. These ornaments are new for 2014.

Kandy Kane left a letter to Santa.

The Holiday Chocolate Santa display was created by Executive Pastry Chef Laurent Branlard, and includes nearly 2000 pounds of chocolate and over 5 million calories. Branlard won the World Pastry Team Championship twice!

A chocolate train is called “Santa Claus” and “SC-1”.

Here is our video of the gorgeous Swan chocolate display.

The Dolphin causeway was being set up for Santa and Mrs. Claus, who meet outside on select nights.

Guests can write a letter to Santa.

Welcome to Santa’s Favorite Resort!

The Christmas tree here is enormous. It can be hard to get it all into one photo!  This year, snowflake projections have been included.

The Dolphin train set circles the tree.

Anna and Elsa make their train debut this year.

Olaf also has been added, bringing up the caboose.

The Christmas tree towers toward the ceiling.

The Dolphin train travels back around, with the decorative deer in view.

The deer and decorations around the tree look more festive than ever!

Snowflakes projected on the ceiling.

This is the first time we’ve seen Santa help light the tree. Mrs. Claus and Kandy Kane lit it last year.

Here is our video of Santa and Mrs. Claus lighting the tree, along with greeting guests (including us) on the Dolphin causeway.

On the way out to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, I took a photo of one of the smaller Christmas trees. The color reminds me of Grinchmas at Universal Studios.

Outside on the causeway, we posed with reindeer before meeting Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Santa and Mrs. Claus posed for us. While they do not meet every day, they do greet guests 12 nights in December. Here is their schedule:

November 28, 29
December 4, 5, 6 and 7
December 11, 12, 13 and 14
December 18, 19, 20 and 21

Santa always looks so relaxed when he is posing with everyone!

Guests can also enjoy complimentary hot chocolate, though it had run out (maybe temporarily) before we left.

In the past couple of years, the Walt Disney World Dolphin causeway had the lighting package upgraded. During the holiday season, the colors alternate between red, green and blue.

The lighting looks spectacular from the side as well.
