Disney’s Beach Club Resort Gingerbread Carousel 2013 – Photos, Video of the 14th Year of this Holiday Tradition!
Hi everyone!
In the past week, we’ve been adding photos and video of the different holiday displays around the Walt Disney World Resorts! One of my favorites each year is Disney’s Beach Club Resort Gingerbread Carousel. It always offers a few surprises!
After reading this article, enjoy other displays from around the Walt Disney World resorts!

The decorations outside of Disney’s Beach Club Resort seem nicer than I remember in a long time – the light poles have garland with lights on them, from the security booth to the resort.
There are always small trees on the way into Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
The photos are from two days we visited – once in the evening, once in the daytime.
This is the Yacht and Beach Club lighthouse, and you can see the shipwrecked boat on the side. There are even chocolate rocks!
The Gingerbread Carousel is presented by the Yacht and Beach Club Bakery and Engineering Team for the 14th year! It includes (as per the sign below):
– 36 pounds of honey
– 96 pounds of breadflour
– 100 pints of eggs
– 10 pounds of spices
– 10 quarts of simple syrup
– 150 pounds of icing
– 50 pounds of dark chocolate
– 50 pounds of modeling chocolate
– 200 gum paste flowers
– 14 hidden Mickeys, and 2013 pieces of gingerbread!
Here is our video!
The characters on the bottom include Tinker Bell in her bathing attire; Mickey and Minnie; Donald wearing a snorkel; and Pluto and Goofy as lifeguards!
Each year, the horses receive new names in the theme of the horse. This blue horse with snowflakes has been called Winter, Wonderland and Jack (for Jack Frost) in past years. This year, the name is Snofia.
Hidden Mickeys are even more hidden this year! This one was easy to find, but the Mickeys have been scattered more than usual.
This candy-themed horse is named “Jingle” this year. He even has candy cane hooves!
Often, the most decorated horse is the one that sits next to the carousel (this year it’s Captain). But in this case, “Holiday” is on the carousel. A sandy-looking Cinderella Castle sits on the saddle, and Christmas lights and a sandman (instead of snowman) help complete the theme!
Last year there was a “Captain” horse, but he was patriotic. This year, he’s named for Captain Jack Sparrow instead of Captain America!
This white chocolate “Under the Sea” concoction was at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival this year, in a chocolate exhibit within the Ghiardelli section of the Festival Center.
At the time I took these photos, these treats were on display – but not yet for sale. By the time we returned, the Beach Club Marketplace was stocked with gingerbread goodies! It looks like there will not be a separate gingerbread sales booth this year.
We love the decorations here!
The second floor makes for great photos.
Here are the items for purchase in the Beach Club Marketplace. They include stollen bread; gingerbread houses; Mickey cookies; shingles; and character lollipops of Ariel, Tinker Bell and Captain Hook.
We talk about all of the holiday displays we’ve visited on our newest Mousesteps Weekly YouTube Show, #79!
Our next display posted will be of the train set at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort!
