Disney’s Boardwalk Resort Gingerbread Display – New Carnival Theme for 2013
Hi everyone!
This year, Disney’s Boardwalk Resort has a new theme for it’s holiday gingerbread display – it looks like a booth that you’d see at a carnival, very well suited to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.
I keep crossing my fingers that they’ll add the fireplace with Donald Duck that includes a train circling it – that has been the traditional gingerbread display for many years. A couple of years ago they added a large house to sell gingerbread out of, themed to Stitch. I like this “house” much better, but it doesn’t feel like enough compared with what they’ve had before. You can see a past display here. This is our 7th year covering Christmas decorations and displays at the resorts!
There are Hidden Mickeys in the gingerbread at the back of the booth.
Cotton Candy sits atop the booth.
Compared with other Walt Disney World gingerbread displays, the choices for purchasing have always been slim at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. But they have added a couple of individual cookie options, which is more than they’ve offered in the past.
There is a cotton candy designed gingerbread cookie, and a shingle cookie.
Stollen bread is still for sale.
And this is the gingerbread house.
If you look closely, the signs include marshmallows, along with Mickey heads. It looks like some sort of candy or icing within the letters.
We purchased one gingerbread cookie.
The back of the cookie is chocolate.
The “cotton candy” is a sugary topping. It was very tasty!
We visited twice – the night it opened, and a couple of days later when we were in the area, to see if anything was added.
The only addition was a fence around the booth.
This is our video of this year’s display.
The decorations are always beautiful inside Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.
Apparently these scary chairs have their own names and Facebook page. 🙂
The tree is outside in the Courtyard.
This is the third holiday gingerbread display we’ve posted, and the carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be coming soon! So far my favorite is Disney’s Contemporary Resort for the variety of offerings, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort celebrated 15 years of it’s famous Gingerbread House (it’s really hard to pick a favorite, they are all great)! Which one do you like best?
If anything is added to Disney’s Boardwalk Resort display, we’ll post it in this article at a later date.
