Mickey’s Very Merry Merry Christmas Party 2014 – 200 Photos and Video

The first two Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party nights kicked off the holiday season, and we now have about 200 photos from the Parties on 2 pages (plus plenty of video to watch)! I began with 150 photos after the first Party, I added an extra 50 from the second. This is our 8th year covering the Party, and we just added an article with tips on enjoying Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!

This is a good reason to purchase tickets early – sometimes Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party does sell out – as it did for the first two Parties this year.

Cast Members hand out wristbands to guests starting at 4 p.m. The Party itself starts at 7:00 p.m., but guests can arrive 3 hours early and enjoy the park.

Guests can pick up their Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Elsa souvenir spell card beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The Mickey’s Christmas Carol windows on Main Street look nicer than ever, with decorations that include new candles and new books.

We visited Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws early on the first day. This is the first time he’s appeared as Sandy Claws in the Walt Disney World parks! We were in line for 2 hours prior to the meet & greet, so not to spend much Party time in line. We were able to meet him at a few minutes after 7:00 p.m. He is located back in Storybook Circus, where the Fastpass machines are. During the second Party, he was meeting at 6:15 p.m., which is the time he is supposed to start during the remainder of the Parties.

It was worth the wait in line.

We received very nice autograph cards with the Party logo on one side, and Jack’s signature on the other.

On the second evening, we began with the Jingle Cruise, which is back for a second year. There are a lot more decorations than there were in 2013, and the attraction can be ridden anytime during the season (it is not a Party exclusive).

During our second Party, we met Scrooge, Donald and Daisy. We were asked how long we waited – we arrived 30 minutes early, and were first in line. But there wasn’t really an official line until closer till 7.

We stopped by Club Tinsel, which offers a Phineas and Ferb dance party. Since they were on a short break when we arrived, we went for treats.

The Seven Dwarfs wear scarfs at their meet and greet.

The other dance party is “The Holiday Hootenanny”. The characters here are the Country Bears, Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck and Horace Horsecollar.

The Golden Horseshoe is decorated very beautifully for Christmas. A DJ plays a variety of songs, not just country.

It wasn’t too busy at this time, but the first parade was passing. The first parade is the very best time to do anything else in the early evening hours.

The Tomorrowland Terrace is one of the cookie and hot chocolate stops. It was open late last year, but not past midnight this year.

After 2 hours in line for Jack Skellington, we spent nearly 3 hours on top of the Main Street Train Station. This was a great location for the first Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, especially with how crowded it was. It was even better for Holiday Wishes fireworks.

“A Frozen Holiday Wish” started. It plays 2 times per night during the holiday season. From up close to the stage, the lighting didn’t look very impressive – but from far away, I found it enjoyable to watch as the lighting on Main Street changed along with Cinderella Castle.

Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade takes about 20 minutes to arrive once it begins in Frontierland. I took a handful of photos from the Train Station, but you’ll find most parade pictures below the Holiday Wishes photos.

Two years ago, Scrooge McDuck stood at the front of this float. Last year, it was Donald and Daisy. This year? Olaf takes the honors. He debuted in “A Frozen Holiday Wish” this past week and is also new to the parade.

It was a busy night! The second showing of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is always much less crowded – and the rest of the park is mostly empty during the first parade.

I took a quick look at the merchandise inside the Main Street Emporium. It was very crowded after the fireworks, so we’ll stop there early next time to get MagicBand and pin photos.

I highly recommend stopping for treats in the Crystal Palace. The hours there are not as long as other locations, but the decorative Pooh characters are all in winter wear.

I had to run to our spot for the second Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. From just after 7:00 p.m. until around 11:30 p.m., we were between the Main Street Train Station and Cinderella Castle. There are areas of the park we still need to see on Monday! This is our favorite view of the parade, from Christmas Tree Point with Cinderella Castle in the background. The lighting on Main Street has never looked better.
