Disney’s Grand Floridian Walkway Construction Photo Update from September 8th, 2020
Hi everyone!
We went to the Magic Kingdom today in part to try a couple of new Halloween treats (Halloween experiences begin a week from today) and took a trip on the monorail to see the Grand Floridian Walkway as it nears completion. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is scheduled to reopen on September 21st, so I’m hoping the walkway will be finished around that time. We also have a TRON coaster update posted.
This photo was taken first from the Ferry, which is how we arrived to the Magic Kingdom. A couple of workers were crossing the bridge.
Here is one more look from the Ferry, with the monorail passing the pathway.
The last time I posted an update, I hadn’t noticed that signage went in for the walkway.
The path looks almost complete, with street lamps and the small barrier at he waterline.
Passing by a construction area.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is coming into view. This will make some nice photos along the way with a totally new vantage point.
There is some landscaping that we showed last update.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can be seen beyond the walkway.
We are getting close to the bridge.
This is the first time we’ve been on the monorail and passed the swing bridge when it was extended.
It is nice to see the full bridge this time.
This view includes Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Once complete, someone could potentially walk from Disney’s Contemporary Resort all the way to the Ticket and Transportation Center. It would be nice to have a path to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as well from the Magic Kingdom.
Here is a look back at the walkway and bridge, with Space Mountain in view.
A worker was busy as we passed by.
Cinderella Castle can be seen in the distance.
Here is a different look at the bridge.
Are you looking forward to the walkway between the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort? I am almost always looking for extra steps and enjoy walking between the various resorts and parks.
