EPCOT Construction Update from August 20th, 2023 Including CommuniCore Hall, Plaza
Hi everyone!
We rode the monorail through EPCOT yesterday and also took photos inside the park of the current construction progress. I won’t have a lot more updates as we are busy and have travel planned this fall. But it was nice to get another look at the progress.
First, we passed by the rideshare loop that has is nearing completion in the EPCOT parking lot.
CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza are in sight.
CommuniCore Hall will be a “flexible exhibition and gallery space, offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.” Also there will be a Mickey & Friends meet and greet location.
CommuniCore Plaza “will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens, as well as large-scale concerts”.
The trees are really starting to fill in here now.
The central planter is based on the five-ring EPCOT logo. Dreamer’s Point with the Walt the Dreamer Statue will be in the background.
I can still see the planter with the zoom lens, but other elements are harder to see each time around.
Here are more photos as we move around EPCOT. Everything is supposed to be open later this year.
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana play testing has resumed. There had been play testing for some Cast Members in July and then there was a break in it for a few weeks.
I also took some photos from the ground.
Again, this will be among the last of our updates on the area until it opens (which I am looking forward to!)
