Minion Land Construction Update From June 6th, 2023 at Universal Orlando Resort (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

We have a Universal Orlando Minion Land update to share! We spent a few hours at the parks yesterday and a lot has changed since just a little over a week ago. Also, the Evil Stuff store opened later in the day after our initial photos (we had left property and then turned around when we saw it was open).

I will have an Evil Stuff article in a couple of hours to share.

Here are our photos and video of Minion Land from yesterday! First, our video.

I already shared many photos of the Minion Land marquee sign during our last update. I love this sign that features 22 Minions!

There is still a wall at the front entrance to Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast.

Universal Orlando says about the attraction:

The world-class attraction transports guests to Villain-Con – the biggest criminal convention on the planet – to take part in an epic competition to see if they have what it takes to become the newest member of The Vicious 6, a notorious group of supervillains from the hit film, “Minions: The Rise of Gru.” Guests who are up for the challenge will grab an interactive blaster and step onto a motion-based pathway to put their skills to the test. They’ll wind and glide through various scenes where they earn points by blasting a variety of items and causing as much mayhem and destruction as possible. It’s a unique, mischief-filled experience that’s so much fun, it’s a crime.

The walls have come down the rest of the way to the Evil Stuff store, showcasing some fun posters.

The first poster is Balthazar Brat. With the convention theme in mind, this poster says you can “Meet the Villain Behind the Hairspray”.

Next is El Macho. “Join his Explosive Q & A”.

Vector is up next, with “The Vector Perkins Story”.

Scarlett Overkill returns to Villain-Con.

Professor Flux, “A Timeless Retrospective”. (Hall C – Yesterday)

Broadsword “The Power of Positive Pummelling”.

Frankie Fishlips “Swimming with Sharks”. Book signing in Aquatic Tank #20.

An Evil Stuff poster points the way to the store.

Continuing down Illumination Avenue, the Evil Stuff store is next with Bake My Day also in view.

There were a lot of guests entering Evil Stuff when we arrived. I will link my store article when I have it posted today.

Here is our video of the Villain-Con Evil Stuff store – it is almost 10 minutes long and includes the fun decor, Minion statues dressed in villain costumes and merchandise.

Looking down to the right, this area includes part of Bake My Day as well as the Illumination Theater facade, where “guests can meet, greet and interact with beloved characters like the Minions, Gru, Margo, Edith and Agnes, plus new additions from the hit film “Sing” – Rosita, Gunter and Johnny – at an outdoor Illumination Theater facade.”

Bake My Day will be a retail location and bakery with Minion-shaped sweet treats including cupcakes and macarons. There will also be Minion-inspired merchandise.

Here is a look at the concept art for Bake My Day. What To the right you can see a bit of the Illumination Theater facade and I didn’t notice originally that Freeze Ray Pops is to the left.

A huge cupcake with a Minion sits atop Bake My Day.

Freeze Ray Pops has a multi-color awning. The location will feature a variety of colorful popsicles “inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector”.

There is a Minions Cafe Mobile Pickup window.

There is a colorful “Bello” mural as well as the Bank of Evil facade filled in (last week there was a placeholder sign).

The “Cafe” letters are wrapped with painting going on around them.

Here is a look at concept art for the Minion Cafe.

There was a lot of work going on at the land yesterday.

Pop-A-Nana will feature “sweet and savory popcorn inspired by the Minions’ love for bananas”. What is visible here has not changed much since our last visit.

Work was ongoing on Minion Cafe behind it.

I am not sure what is going in here.

Minion Land has progressed so much since our last visit! As a big fan of the Minions, I look forward to the completion of the land this summer.
