EPCOT Construction Update from May 9th, 2023 Including CommuniCore Hall, Moana Journey of Water

Hi everyone!

We took the monorail around EPCOT to see the latest construction progress including CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza and Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.

This is the rumored rideshare location that is being created in the EPCOT parking lot.

Near Guest Relations, a lot of trees have been planted.

CommuniCore Hall is in view. CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, “offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.” There will also be a new Mickey & Friends meet and greet location.

Disney says that CommuniCore Plaza “will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens as well as large-scale concerts.”

Dreamers Point, where the Walt the Dreamer statue will be placed is taking shape.

Here is CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall concept art. This whole area is scheduled to open this fall, along with Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.

Work continues on either side of the restrooms here.

Next up is Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana.

Work was going on at the figure that looks like Tamatoa the crab.

 

There is more signage up since my last time around.

This sign shows rules about the interactive water feature.

I also took some photos from the ground toward CommuniCore Hall. The current EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival flower quilt looks very vibrant as well.
