3/28 Downtown Disney Update – Ridemakerz and More

I just put up an Epcot/Magic Kingdom update (including Epcot construction and changes to Fantasyland), and so much has been happening at Downtown Disney as well.

We headed over to Ridemakerz on Thursday night (it opened that morning). It is located where the Virgin Megastore was.  We were told that Ridemakerz would be in that location until September, when they’d move elsewhere – maybe the Marketplace. They brought a number of sports cars into the building to help fill it up.  I told an employee there that it seemed like “Build a Bear for boys”, and she said it was part of the same company.  And of course, it’s not just for boys – I would have loved one as a kid!  You start out with a basic car body, most of them are powered – and then add custom wheels, music and more. For $25, you can make it a radio control vehicle.  If you want to add to it later, you can.  The prices seem pretty reasonable for the base model.
