Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a Charming and Fun Addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Photos, Video)
Hi everyone!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens today (March 4th, 2020) at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – the first ride based on Mickey Mouse and friends in a Disney park! A couple of years ago, The Great Movie Ride closed in the iconic Chinese Theater – and for me, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a worthy successor that is completely different and will delight a wide range of guests. Another family friendly attraction is also very welcome, and the ride fits that bill. Here is a look at some photos and video from the media preview yesterday, and we will have more in the coming days. There are many spoilers!

I have quite a few photos from yesterday but am heading out to California this morning. I will add some more when I have a chance. And we have a number of interviews and a ride cam to look through for use on our channel and/or our show.
The ride is based on a new Disney short, “Perfect Picnic”, which guests watch before the ride.
Here is our first video, a full POV ride.
Here is our video of the ceremony!
Before a few more photos, here is another video we posted that shares 4 POV rides. Each car is a bit different in vantage point.
There is a really fun Easter egg in here but it isn’t one I want to spoil too much in a close-up photo. We were told by an Imagineer that there are “countless” Easter eggs.
You can see in the ice cream behind Pete a hidden Mickey. There are a ton of Mickeys, hidden and otherwise.
1401 Flower refers to the address for Imagineering in Glendale, California.
This room that Daisy is in…the way the cars move is very similar to Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters in Disney California Adventure. And it is one of the areas you’ll want to hold onto the lap bars.
Chuuby is the new character for the ride. He (?) isn’t featured as prominently as I expected, but is cute.
I hadn’t even noticed when I took this photo that it looked like a hidden Mickey. This is part of the decor on the way into the ride.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is a very repeatable attraction, a lot of fun and there are some fun sight gags as well as the Easter eggs. I recommend booking it on Fastpass+ before your trip!
