Takumi-Tei Will Bring Upscale Dining to Epcot’s Japan Pavilion in Summer 2019
Hi everyone!
Disney announced last year that a third table service location would be added to Epcot’s Japan pavilion, joining Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki and Teppan Edo. Disney said of the upcoming restaurant at that time, The setting will draw from both nature and takumi, which means “artisan” in Japanese, and the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world will be evident throughout the space.
That hasn’t changed, you can see it both in the name and how Disney describes the restaurant. Takumi-Tei means “house of the artisan” and Disney says that the food is also inspired by the wonderful collaboration between nature and takumi, the artisan.
Disney has not released a menu yet but talks a little about the experience: The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.
Mitsukoshi USA operates the dining and merchandise in the Japanese pavilion and will operate Takumi-Tei. We will be seeing two new Epcot restaurants this year, one in Future World (the upcoming space-themed restaurant from Patina Restaurant Group) and Takumi-Tei in World Showcase.
