Pixar Luxo Jr. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Photos and Video 6/22/2009
Hi everyone!
I stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios today to see if Luxo Jr. was out. Luxo Jr. had his “officially unofficial” debut today! Here is our video, followed by photos.
Luxo Jr. is part of Disney’s Living Character Initiative, which included the Muppet Mobile Lab at Epcot nearly 2 years ago, as well as Remy at Chefs De France (the latter has seen some of our highest rated videos on our YouTube channel!)
The shows for Luxo Jr. are on the quarter hour – like 4pm, 4:15, 4;30, 4:45, etc. The show lasts nearly 3 minutes, and it is the same show playing all day until around dusk. At that time, there is a different one – and I’ll know more tonight. The show is not interactive like Remy is, Luxo Jr. comes out from a door (think the clock at Germany) and dances, moves and then heads back inside. The last song played is “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.
Here is Pixar Place, where Luxo Jr. performs:
Coming out from his door, and moving to music.
You can get a feel for how high he is here. Luxo Jr. isn’t accessible to guests, but he is entertaining (especially for those standing outside waiting for the Toy Story Mania ride). The rest are photos from a variety of angles at 2 shows, showing him coming out of the door, performing, and retreating.
I am heading back in a few minutes to enjoy the evening show, and to capture that on video and in photos! Check out other videos on our YouTube channel (we now have 125 subscribers).
