Mickey and Minnie Debut in New Celebration Costumes at Magic Kingdom

Hi everyone!

Mickey and Minnie debuted at Town Square Theater yesterday in their new 90th birthday celebration costumes! This is part of a variety of new experiences and meet and greets around Walt Disney World that are under the umbrella promotion of “Now More Than Ever”. At the Magic Kingdom, Mickey and Minnie are also part of the terrific “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party.

Town Square Theater has been turned into Celebration Central, where guests can sign an autograph book and meet both Mickey and Minnie (Mickey has met by himself until now). Mickey and Minnie are currently scheduled to meet here in their costumes through September 30th, 2019. Photos and video are below!

There is a banner outside Town Square Theater that says “Mickey and Minnie’s Celebration Central”.

Operating hours are 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.

Guests can sign an autograph book and receive a notecard with stickers.

The guest book is huge!

Most signage has been changed, including the artwork in the queue and the banner over the meet and greet entrance.

We met Mickey and Minnie twice in a row yesterday – the first was with Fastpass and the time posted was at least an hour. After we met Mickey and Minnie, we learned about the new artwork and with only a 15 minute wait, we waited.

It is nice to see Mickey and Minnie meeting together again in the Magic Kingdom.

All of the artwork mentions Mickey & Minnie’s Celebration Revue, which would be the new storyline for the attraction. This features Steamboat Willie.

This features Nifty Nineties.

This artwork features Lonesome Ghosts.

And this features Ye Olden Days.

The last artwork features Mickey’s Surprise Party and can be found in the queue and in the room where guests meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

On the floor is a celebration hat projection.

There are streamer decorations around the room.

The banner now mentions the new meet and greet.

I had purchased limited edition plush figures of Mickey and Minnie at D23 Destination D this year, and they made nice props for photos.

Here is our video of Mickey and Minnie.

On our second time around, I took photos of Mickey and Minnie by themselves.

This is a fun meet and greet and will be one of several popular additions this year to the parks!

Jeff had actually had an opportunity to meet Mickey and Minnie before I did as part of a media event. He covered events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom and we will share more of that in the next couple of days.
