Guardians of the Galaxy Roller Coaster Themed Construction Walls Now at Epcot

Hi everyone!

We were at Epcot yesterday, and the walls around the former Universe of Energy pavilion now say, “A whole New Galaxy is Coming to Epcot”! Yesterday, Disney said of the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster construction project, “Earlier this week, 960 trucks’ worth of concrete was poured to create the foundation of what will soon take shape as Epcot’s mammoth “Guardians of the Galaxy”-themed attraction. The attraction is on track to become one of the world’s longest enclosed coasters, and to house it, a new facility is being built adjacent to the existing Universe of Energy building.”

Here are a few more photos. Notice the “21” which probably is referring to the coaster opening in 2021. Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary is that year.

Are you looking forward to the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster? We still have a few years to wait until it opens, but there will be “Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live!” at the America Gardens Theatre starting June 9th and ending August 19th as part of Incredible Summer at Walt Disney World.
