Geyser Point Bar & Grill Open at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Photos & Video (Including Food & Drinks)

Hi everyone!

Geyser Point Bar & Grill opened on February 13th at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We were there on opening day, which also was the day that Roaring Fork closed for refurbishment through maybe sometime this summer. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has been one of my favorite resorts since it opened in 1994. It didn’t take long after that for a DVC addition to be added (The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), now renamed Boulder Ridge Villas. New additions to the resort will include the Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, and Geyser Point Bar & Grill services that area.

 

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is always an enjoyable place to stop for a visit.

Roaring Fork was closed when we arrived to the resort. This counter service location opened with Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Geyser Point is on the edge of Bay Lake. It is a short walk from the main building, I’m not sure how well that will work for counter service dining on days that it is raining.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is an open air location, though it can be enclosed. If there is any chill in the air, I recommend a jacket since the wind was a little cool coming through the building on a moderately warm but cloudy day.

Geyser Point is part of a more detailed theming to the area, hearkening to “1860’s railroad hotels of the American West”.

This is how close Bay Lake is, the building is practically on top of it. This makes for terrific views, including of the Electrical Water Pageant.

Looking back at Geyser Point Bar & Grill.

I am not sure what Reunion Station will be yet.

Teton Boat & Bike Rentals still was closed, but hopefully it will reopen soon. We’ve been told that the Trout Pass Pool Bar was closed for good, though it currently says “temporarily” online.

There is a counter service window at Geyser Point Bar & Grill. These items can also be ordered inside at serviced tables (along with a smaller dedicated menu). Guests can bring refillable mugs here, the soda fountain is to the right.

Here is the breakfast menu and the lunch/dinner menu.

Breakfast includes Smoked Salmon, Eggs Benedict and Crab Cake Eggs Benedict.

Burgers, sandwiches and salads are included on the lunch/dinner menu. I’m a picky eater and find the menu pretty limited. This menu includes a Lump Crab Cake Sandwich, Grilled Salmon BLT, and a Bison Cheeseburger. I ended up ordering at the table a Classic Bacon Cheeseburger without cheese, and I’ll talk about that later.

I found this a comfortable location to enjoy a drink or a meal.

Our table ordered several cocktails to start with.

Beverages are Coke products. I was disappointed that the iced tea was Gold Peak instead of fresh brewed, but the coffee is.

I didn’t personally try most of the menu items. The food was very well received at our table, except for my hamburger. Here is a look at what was ordered.

Crispy Fried Oysers with Miso Tarter Sauce.

Edamame with Chili Salt.

Lump Crab Cake Sandwich.

Cheesy Barbecue Brisket with House Made Chips. This was probably the favorite item at the table, and if I ate here again, I’d want to try this.

House Smoked Salmon BLT. It included a very generous amount of salmon, the crab cake also had a nice portion size.

This is the Blue Wilderness (secret menu drink) with the Moscata Colada frozen drink in the foreground. The Blue Wilderness includes Black Cherry Zodiac Vodka, Pineapple Juice, Lemon Juice, and  Blue Curacao. The Moscata Colada has Skyy Infusions Moscato Grape Vodka and Bols Blue Curacao blended with Pina Colada Mix. The latter was quite sweet, I enjoyed both drinks.

Here is the Smoked Turkey Sandwich, it includes cranberry mayonnaise. This is what Jeff ordered. There wasn’t a lot of turkey on the sandwich, but Jeff enjoyed it.

Sandwiches can be ordered with fries or quinoa salad. The quinoa salad didn’t look tasty, but I liked it a lot – it had a nice cucumber taste to it.

This is the Classic Bacon Cheeseburger (with 5 french fries on my plate). The burger costs $12.49 and looked good in the wrapper until I tasted it. It was dry and lacked any flavor. I struggled to eat half (it was also a large burger) and then I left the rest behind. It is extremely rare for me to not take leftovers home, I hate wasting food and money but I did. I recommend D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs and pretty much anywhere else for a hamburger.

This is my burger from above. The fries were okay…I ended up eating one and traded the rest with Jeff for the salad (which I could have eaten a full bowl of).

Here is the Chocolate Brownie Mousse. I tried a forkful of this dessert. It was tasty but not one I’d personally order – the cake part is dense and then the top is soft. There are a lot of other desserts I’d prefer at Walt Disney World, but it’s not a bad choice.

I did enjoy the experience and drinks even if not the food I ordered.

I’d go back to Geyser Point Bar & Grill for a drink, probably not to eat unless checking out the brisket. But it’s always like coming home when visiting Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is a nice addition to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, certainly as a bar with great views of Bay Lake. It’d be nice to see a grab-and-go option inside the resort all day and not just for breakfast, so guests don’t have to leave the main building for counter service food while Roaring Fork is closed – and maybe a few more standard food options as well.
