“Chalk Full of Character” Returns to EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2022 with New “Luca”, “Turning Red” Additions (Spoilers)

Hi everyone!

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2022 has now begun and the Chalk Full of Character decals have been placed around World Showcase, with new additions – characters from “Luca” as well as Mei as a panda from Disney and Pixar’s upcoming film “Turning Red”. This article is full of spoilers! I was also told there were a couple of new decals that we missed so we’ll add those after our Tuesday visit. Thanks to Hollie for the email letting me know!

I first posted the article prior to the festival opening and have updated it since the Festival began on January 14th.

The Chalk Full of Character signage is now up.

Figment lets guests know to look for the artwork around World Showcase.

Here is our video and then photos.

Our first stop was Canada. Mei as a panda is to the right.

“Turning Red” will be released March 11, 2022 on Disney+. Mei is a teenage girl who turns into a red panda when she becomes emotional. The animated movie is set in Toronto.

Koda is back again, also in the Canada pavilion with a fish.

In the United Kingdom, Peter Pan’s shadow is back.

A lot of the characters are in the same places as they were in other years. The Robin Hood characters are outside of Lords and Ladies.

Here is a look at one of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts banners as we head toward France.

Over in the new France expansion, Remy and Emile have been redesigned and moved to this area.

The redesign of the characters is a good one. Remy scurries up the pipe here.

Emile enjoys a macaron.

We stopped by for a photo of the Ratatouille fountain before finding more characters in the France pavilion.

The other characters in the pavilion are back in familiar locations, including Lumiere outside of L’Artisan des Glaces.

Here is a close-up of Lumiere.

The Artistocats are outside of La Maison du Vin.

Marie, Berlioz and Toulouse are back along La Petite Rue.

Morocco is next.

Abu is back in the Morocco pavilion.

This is the same location he’s been in during other years.

Gelatoni and Duffy are back in the Japan pavilion.

Gelatoni creates art of Mickey.

Amos from “Ben and Me” is back at the American Adventure pavilion.

Here is a closer look at Amos.

New this year is the “Luca” characters. When we saw that Mei from “Turing Red” was out, I asked out loud if maybe the “Luca” characters would be out in Italy. They are!

Jeff found it interesting they are at the water fountain. Luca and Alberto make a splash.

Both appear partway between their human and sea monster forms.

Alberto kicks up some water.

Machievelli is below.

The crab is here as well.

This makes for a fun photo spot.

Jiminy Cricket is back around the corner as well.

Pascal can be found again in three locations in the Germany pavilion.

Pascale paints a sun.

Pascal hides in the words “clocks and crafts” outside the Volkskunst Clocks and Crafts shop.

And Pascal eats a piece of caramel corn outside of Karamell-Küche.

Shenzi, Banzai and Ed are in their same location at the Refreshment Outpost.

They get ready to eat a hot dog.

Mushu and Cri-Kee are in their location from last year in China.

There is still one more character to find.

Little Brother is back again behind a bench not far from Good Fortune Gifts. I will get a wider shot tomorrow.

Snowgies are back in Norway.

And Dante in both forms is back in Mexico.

He is outside of the entrance.

This is always one of my favorite activities during EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!
