Towne Halle Unveiled at Give Kids the World with New Food Court & Three Themed Conference Rooms

We were there yesterday as the new 53,000 square foot Towne Hall was unveiled at Give Kids the World. I had the opportunity over a month ago to be part of a Blogger Bash that gave us an overview of the guest space downstairs, which connects to the Gingerbread House. It was a suprise to go upstairs into the employee workspace that includes three distinct meeting rooms designed by area theme park giants: Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando. We will give a detailed look at those rooms in the article! We also have video of the ceremony and themed rooms.

Give Kids the World President Pamela Landwirth talked briefly as Mayor Clayton and Ms. Merry stood beside her. The new Towne Hall took over a year to build, and was designed by C.T. Tsu & Associates and built by Welbro Building Corporation.

The ribbon is cut by Pamela Landwirth. I first volunteered at Give Kids the World around 2003, and the last few years have brought so many changes! Give Kids the World feels more and more like an upscale resort. The mission remains the same, to be a place where kids with life threatening illnesses can enjoy a cost-free vacation in a fairytale setting.

Here is a quick look at Cafe’ Clayton, which is the new food court area at Give Kids the World inside Towne Hall. Perkins Restaurant, Boston Market and Papa John’s Pizza support this location. Donations and corporate sponsors are integral to Give Kids the World, as are the myriad of volunteers and staff. There is also more guest space within the new Towne Hall.

The Gingerbread House is still used for seating.

The decor of the Gingerbread House has changed quite significantly.

Dolls and stuffed animals are still part of the building, with glass cases of donated items now closer to the view of guests.

Upstairs is where the three themed conference rooms are. The first one is designed by SeaWorld. The rooms are for use by Give Kids the World, with the rooms being “adopted” and designed by corporate partners.
