LEGO Friends Heartlake City Opens at LEGOLAND Florida (Photos, Video)
Hi everyone!
LEGOLAND Florida has opened a new land, LEGO Friends Heartlake City. We were there yesterday for a media preview before the ribbon cutting today, and we have photos and video to share of the event and new attractions.
The LEGO Friends characters are a relatively new (2012) addition to the LEGO brand, and are extremely popular with young girls. Heartlake City is geared mostly toward that market, though Mia’s Riding Adventure is fun for anyone – kids, teens, adults, boys, girls – anyone and everyone that likes mild thrills.
The Heartlake Stepping Tones Fountain features LEGO instruments that play music triggered by interactive icons.
LEGO characters including Brickbeard and Laval helped celebrate the new land.
LEGOLAND Representative Brittany Williams joined Brickbeard on stage.
The LEGO Friends were on hand to help celebrate. Olivia, Stephanie, Emma, Mia and Andrea are in a new show called “Friends to the Rescue” at Heartlake City.
The full celebration is here in our video!
I wasn’t sure what to expect with Mia’s Riding Adventure. It is actually a lot of fun. There are 40 small horses on a disk, which spins in circles while moving forward and backward along the track. It isn’t tame, but not too wild either.
We have a video of Mia’s Riding Adventure which shows both a view of it from where we were standing, along with a POV from on the attraction.
The official LEGOLAND description of “Friends to the Rescue” is, “Heartlake Hall is gearing up for Andrea’s big performance, but when all doesn’t go as planned, its up to the other LEGO Friends to come to her rescue to ensure the biggest concert Heartlake City has ever seen goes off without a hitch”. Here is our full video of the show!
Little girls will love this show! I enjoyed some of the music myself.
Confetti falls on guests.

I’ve never seen so much heart-shaped confetti as I did yesterday.

The LEGO Friends pose once more before we ended our day at Heartlake City.
There is a photo opportunity for guests called Stephanie’s Newsroom, and the Heartlake Mall shopping experience. We haven’t seen either of these yet, but will the next time we visit (we are passholders to the area Merlin attractions).
LEGOLAND Florida will be hosting a “Friends Weekend” from June 26-28, 2015, where guests will walk down a purple carpet, enjoy a dance party and participate in a themed build. Even if guests cannot make that event, Heartlake City is officially open as of today – and ready for guests!
