Our First Experience at Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Including Food, Drinks
Hi everyone!
Jeff dined today at Steakhouse 71 inside Disney’s Contemporary Resort as part of a media event today and I wanted to share some photos of the interior and the food. This isn’t a review, we’ll be dining there on our own for lunch tomorrow and I’ll have a full review with more photos this weekend. Steakhouse 71 replaced The Wave…of American Flavors on the first floor of the resort and it officially opens tomorrow (October 1st, 2021). The “71” stands for the year Walt Disney World opened. The opening of the restaurant coincides with the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
The hallway to Steakhouse 71 offers historic photos.
Here are a look at some of those photos from construction and the opening of Walt Disney World, including Roy O. Disney with Mickey Mouse.
The check-in area has changed – as has the whole restaurant.
Here is a look at the bar area.
There is a seating area with chandeliers that look like dandelions.
There is fun artwork on the walls, including of Space Mountain.
This artwork includes the Wedway People Mover, the former Skyway attraction and Space Mountain.
Space Mountain is seen in this concept art, along with the Grand Prix Raceway (now the Tomorrowland Speedway).
There are murals that are similar to what we see in the newly updated lobby. This mural includes Cinderella Castle and the Walt Disney World Railroad.
There is a hidden Mickey on the train.
Another mural is in the restaurant and includes a monorail.
The two murals are side by side.
Here is a look at the restaurant with diners in it.
Menus are online and include non-alcoholic and specialty cocktails.
Jeff sat with two others and started with cocktails.
Bacon & Eggs – Maple-lacquered Pork Belly, Smoked Cheese Grits, Perfect Egg $15.00.
They ordered the 6 ounce Filet Mignon.
Jeff said everyone really liked the pork chop (he liked everything but in the short amount of time I spoke with him today, this was noted as a favorite). 14-oz Dry-aged Pork Bone-In Rib Chop Served with choice of one (1) Side and one (1) Sauce $30.00
This is the Vegetable “Wellington” Mushroom Duxelles and Fire-roasted Artichokes wrapped in Puff Pastry, Romesco, Brussels Sprouts (Plant-based) – $26.00.
A sauce flight was brought out.
For dessert, they tried a number of items. The most popular to order may end up being the Steakhouse 71 Chocolate Cake. I look forward to this one tomorrow! It includes Layers of Whiskey infused Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Mousse, Raspberries (Item made with or contains alcohol) -$11.00.
Jeff said the Ambrosia was a surprise hit with Coconut Chiffon Cake, Mandarin Curd, Compressed Pineapple -$8.00.
The Crème Brûlée – Vanilla and Chocolate-layered Crème Brûlée, Fresh Berries, Chantilly Cream -$10.00.
They received a platter of desserts that looked like this. I will talk to Jeff more about what they tried and then we’ll have lunch tomorrow. Look for our review this weekend!
I already know what I plan to order tomorrow and look forward to checking it out! Keep reading Mousesteps as we continue our posts about The World’s Most Magical Celebration this weekend.
