Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Update – March 15, 2015: Includes Lava Pool, Signage

Hi everyone!

We have another update at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as it gets closer to opening Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, the Lava Pool, and the first phase of the Disney Vacation Club Villas (including the Bora Bora Bungalows). We haven’t gotten over there as often as I’d like, it’s been a few weeks or so since our last Polynesian Village Resort update. Resort construction has been on high gear for the last few months, and that was true Friday as well.

There is still construction going on at the entrance.

The Lava Pool should be open in just a couple of weeks! I haven’t seen an official date, but April 1st is when the opening date is for the first phase of the DVC Villas including the Bora Bora Bungalows, and the pool may be ready for that (and I’ve read Trader Sam’s as well).

 

 

The water play area for children is still being worked on.

The pool is full of water now, which it wasn’t the last time we were here.

The volcano is nearly done.

We will see a map later in the article which mentions “Kiki Tikis Splash Play”.

The Bora Bora Bungalows can be seen through the trees.

New signage has been popping up for a couple of months now.

New artwork for sale includes Stitch and Pluto.

It looks like we have one more spot here, for Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.

We could hear a lot of laughter coming from inside Trader Sam’s, which should be open soon.

This sign is still in the old font, which I always liked.

The Lava Pool has been added to this sign.

The Lava Pool, Barefoot Pool Bar and Kiki Tikis Splash Play has been added here as well.

The quiet pool is now called the Oasis Pool, with an Oasis Bar & Grill listed.

Construction continues on the DVC Villas.

The Bungalows were being toured by some Cast Members.
