Disney’s Grand Floridian 3rd Annual Magnificent Chocolate Easter Egg Display to Return April 4th, Including “Frozen” Egg

Disney announced the dates for the 3rd annual Grand Floridian Easter egg display, which will be held between April 4th – 22nd, 2014. Prior to 2012, the large decorated eggs were scattered around the resort in restaurants. This year there will be an egg for Disney “Frozen”!

Here are some photos from 2012 and 2013 to give you an idea of what to expect, along with two videos. The hollow chocolate eggs weight 9-12 pounds each, and are 16-20 inches tall! The Grand Floridian Bakery Team is truly amazing, each egg a magnificent work of art. These creations are new every year, with Cast Members taking home the eggs once the display is over. When we spoke with Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek late last year, he mentioned that the eggs would be out longer than previously, to allow more guests to enjoy them. Other egg themes this year, according to the Disney Parks Blog, include “The Little Mermaid”, “Cinderella” and “Lady and the Tramp”.
