Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Construction Update from June 1st, 2021
Hi everyone!
As the late July reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort nears, the monorail platform and front entrance of the Great Ceremonial House (the porte-cochère) are both moving quickly. Our last update was May 14th and you can see how much has changed since then.
The monorail station walkway that links the station to the Great Ceremonial House can be seen to the right.
A monorail heads toward the station, which has been closed since late last year.
The parking lot is still a staging area for this piece that will be added to the front entrance.
You can see the color on the opposite side.
There were a lot of workers today on the project.
And there is some work also in the back of the Great Ceremonial House, next to Pineapple Lanai.
On our walk to the Magic Kingdom, we noticed nice landscaping where a lot of work had still been going on during our last stop here. The rooms of these longhouses will be themed to Moana. The Disney Vacation Club section of the resort as well as some restaurants, shops and recreation (including pools) have been open since June 2020.
I expect to be stopping by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in about a week and will bring another update!
