“Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World Trivia” Book Review: Hours of Fun For Any Disney Fan!
Hi everyone!
We were sent a copy of The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World Trivia: A Ride-by-Ride Exploration of the History, Facts, and Secrets Behind the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom by Susan Veness to review. It’s a big title, isn’t it? The book is chockful of fun! While I am in the parks several times per week, there is quite a lot of trivia and information I wasn’t aware of. It’s always fun to learn something new, and my copy is already a bit dog eared.
The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World is written in very simple language, and the layout makes it easy to read while in each park. There are questions to answer, and scavenger hunts to enjoy. Even after nearly 40 years of visiting the Walt Disney World parks, I constantly find details that I never knew existed – and this book also points some of them out. For example, in the Canadian pavilion of World Showcase, do you know what icon is carved into the fence posts along the water? In the Magic Kingdom, what animals did not leave their tracks in Storybook Circus? Many questions are created in a multiple choice format (like the two I just mentioned), and the answers can be found in the back of the book.
The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – not yet open – is even mentioned in the book. There is a part of the vehicle design that has never been done with a coaster before. We know the answer to this one, but not everyone will! Each park has a plethora of information and questions, and you’ll want to bring this book along to all of them!
In the introduction, it says that “This interpretive guide provides a ride-by-ride exploration of the history, magic and fun that all four Walt Disney World parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom – have to offer.”
Personally, I recommend the paperback version to the Kindle – there is just something about having a book to flip through and mark up. It is small enough to be easily carried in a backpack! But either way you choose, I definitely recommend purchasing The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World Trivia before your next Walt Disney World vacation.
