Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Photos 2013 – Over 150!
Hi everyone!
We have attended 2 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas nights so far this year and I wanted to share over 150 photos that I took! This is our 7th year covering Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Tickets are good at 4:00 p.m., and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party officially starts at 7:00 p.m. This sign is the outside of the park, with information on buying tickets if you don’t already have them! You can read my article with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party tips here.
Entering into the Magic Kingdom.
On the first night, the Party was sold out – there is a sign for that too!
The logo is different this year, so the banners and signs are too. I love the new logo, it’s very retro looking!
Welcome to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
We have already posted photos and video of Christmas on Main Street including Cinderella’s Holiday Wish and Castle lighting. I wanted to show a few photos of nighttime at New Fantasyland. There are new decorations this year! Nothing fancy that I’ve seen, but it’s nice to see garland draped around Belle’s Village. Inside of Be Our Guest is decorated as well, but we’ve not been inside yet to see it.
This year, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are not meeting together in their holiday outfits at Town Square Theater. They traditionally have been there or in Mickey’s Toontown Fair when that was open, but Mickey isn’t dressed for Christmas this year, and Minnie is out by the Fantasyland wall.
Donald, Daisy and Scrooge McDuck are in Storybook Circus, not far from Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Daisy was not out for the first set when we were there, but arrived just as it was our turn to meet them.
Here is our video with Daisy, Donald and Scrooge McDuck!
New for this year, peppermint sticks instead of globes to signify treats. There are also projections around the Magic Kingdom.
There are quite a few shirts and pins this year to purchase! We picked up red shirts that have a more expanded logo than this.
Guests can purchase a Very-Merry Cherry Slush at Cosmic Rays.
Also inside of Cosmic Rays (besides complimentary treats) is Club Tinsel. This is a dance party that includes Chip, Dale and Goofy. The logo says “we’re getting jingly with it!”
I thought it was interesting that the old logo was on a few signs, including here at the Columbia Harbor House.
Mary Poppins, Bert and Penguins greet guests next to the carousel.
In Adventureland and other aras of the park, red and green tree projections add to the festivity.
We found Abu greeting guests in Adventureland, and we got in line for Genie. Abu was with Aladdin, and Jasmine is usually with Genie (but she was in the parade at that time).
Here is our video of Genie, Aladdin, Abu and Jasmine!
We took photos and video of three Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade viewings over 2 nights. The second night, it was Veterans Day and 6 Marines were part of the procession! My dad was a Marine (he was at the White House again that morning for the Veterans Day breakfast), and I’m so glad that Disney recognized our military!
One of the viewings of the parade was from on the train station. There will be a mixture of photos from both angles! I’m adding one of our parade videos here too.
Our favorite spot is at what Jeff calls “Christmas Tree Point”. It is where the Christmas tree will be placed next month in Town Square, and it offers a wonderful view of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade!
The parade is led off by a large group of characters, including Peter Pan, Wendy and the Pooh gang!
Penguins from “Mary Poppins”.
Mickey and Minnie have new outfits this year. I wrote an article on some of the changes this year for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
Minnie reaches down to pat Duffy’s head.
Another change from my article is that Scrooge is no longer in the parade. Donald and Daisy are on his float.
Chip and Dale are back, creating a snowman and having snowfights!
Snow White and the Prince, along with the Seven Dwarfs.
Cinderella and Prince Charming pass by in the carriage, led by white horses.
Belle, Beast, Tiana and Prince Naveen join other royalty on the princess float!
The Fairy Godmother stands at the back.
Horace Horsecollar on his float.
My two favorite sections of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade are the gingerbread men and the reindeer. Here are the gingerbread men!
Car and driver.
The bears are a little different this year (although the old-style bears are in the Celebrate the Season show).
The Toy Story float includes Woody and Jessie.
I also love the toy soldiers! They always make for great photos as they march down Main Street.
Another difference this year are the new reindeer. They were first at Disneyland last year, and now have arrived to Walt Disney World. You can see the old style here.
Santa always ends the parade.
Holiday Wishes is a great show! I definitely recommend seeing it at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
