4/11 Epcot Update – Gargoyles at Monsters University Display, Morocco Spice Road Table Construction
Hi everyone!
We headed to Epcot yesterday, it was my first time in the parks since I left for Washington DC last week – Jeff did a great job keeping up with everything that was going on in that time! I wanted to share some photos from yesterday, including the new gargoyles on the Monsters University display.
One of the many things I love about the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is that it’s constantly evolving. Additions like the gargoyles were fun to find, but the flower quilts also received a second planting as they do each year. As winter turns to spring, so the flowers are updated! And Disney didn’t waste any time getting construction started on Morocco’s Spice Road Table, which is set to open later this year. We talked a little about the new restaurant in our Mousesteps Weekly YouTube show!
The Fountain View ice cream shop is closed to become a Starbucks. This location never felt very permanent, through it has been there for years. Prior to that, the Fountain View sold desserts and drinks, and stayed open after Illuminations was over. I loved that! When crowds were heavy after Illuminations ended, it was a nice respite untl they thinned out. I hope that Starbucks has extra hours as well.
Jeff always likes to stop for a Beverly at Ice Station Cool!
Recently, the flower quilts received a second planting. We’d learned a few years back that the winter flowers are replaced midway through the Festival. You can see the difference! The first two photos are from yesterday, and the third is from the opening day of the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival (you can see 300 photos from opening day here).
These are some new ballcaps, my favorite has the vintage logo! I keep hoping for vintage style silver sterling jewelry similar to what I had as a child.
Heading to the Monsters University display – you can see the crowds weren’t too big yesterday!
The two gargoyles are on top of the Monsters display, and were installed in the morning.
