Lottawatta Lodge Now Offers Covered Seating at Blizzard Beach Water Park

Hi everyone!

Lottawatta Lodge  at Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park now offers permanent covered seating! Lottawatta Lodge is a quick service dining location at the park. While on a self-guided media walking tour Jeff noticed it – he and his parents last dined here not too long before the closure almost a year ago. Blizzard Beach reopens on Sunday, Marcy 7th, 2021. Here is a look at Lotawatta Lodge, including that new covered seating!

Guests can place a mobile order at Lottawatta Lodge.

The name Lottawatta Lodge plays on the theme of a ski resort that was built in the wrong place. The Disney Parks Blog says, “As the story goes, a legendary snowstorm in Florida prompted local opportunists to build a ski resort. When Florida’s climate returned to normal temperatures and the snow began to melt, Blizzard Beach was born.”

The covered seating area is to the left.

Mark Dukes, GM of Disney Water Parks told us, “While we were down, we had the opportunity to build a new covered area near Lottawatta Lodge that will allow guests to have more shaded areas to dine. It can hold almost 200 people with family seating”.

Our Blizzard Beach video tour includes this area.

The seating previously was uncovered except for umbrellas.

Here is our interview with Dukes about Blizzard Beach reopening including the covered seating at Lottawatta Lodge.

We took a look around Lottawatta Lodge. We will have more photos and video of the water park later today.

Plexiglass is up at the counters and face coverings are required for ordering areas. More information on health and safety at Blizzard Beach can be found here. On the ground are the markers we are used to in the parks.

The menu at this location includes a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Chef Salad and White Cap Flatbread.

Skis add theming to the area.

We posted an article with about 80 photos and video of Blizzard Beach here. Jeff first visited Blizzard Beach on opening day – April 1, 1995. Back then, Ice Gator was a character that walked around the park and there were three water parks with River Country still open. It was nice to see the park yesterday as it gets ready to reopen.
