12/22 Rosen Shingle Creek Offers Winter Wonderland Stroll Tonight – Free Event!
We were invited yesterday to check out the Rosen Shingle Creek Winter Wonderland Stroll, a FREE event that celebrates the holiday season in style. Even the parking fee is waived! Delicious hot cocoa is provided to guests who attend. You have another shot at it tonight if you want to bring the family – keep reading for photos and information!
We'd never been to the Rosen Shingle Creek before, it is a gorgeous resort! During the Winter Wonderland Stroll last night, carolers were singing in the lobby, and Santa was greeting guests indoors (it was a cold night, so much was brought inside). Mrs. Claus was reading Peanuts books to kids in a room that would soon show The Polar Express. Admission is free, though guests can purchase tickets for the Shingle Creek Express for $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for kids ages 4-12. Food is available for purchase outside, and Cafe' Osceola is offering it's buffet again for half price – about $13.00 for adults, including peel and eat shrimp and a carved meat.
Winter Wonderland Stroll is from 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., and includes holiday karaoke!
One of the Snowflake Girls:
What a wonderful memory these kids will have, of Mrs. Claus reading to them!
The Polar Express would be shown here an hour later:
An angel stands in front of the 25 foot tree. Pathways are adorned with snowflakes and lights:
Guests keep warm by dancing:
It looks like a real snow! Jeff stands in the blizzard:
The Shingle Creek Express train:
Santa is never very hard to find – and doesn't have hour-long waits like in the parks right now!
Just inside the door from being outside is Cafe' Osceola. I mentioned the half-price buffet special, which is an incredible price for the money! It's just for 2 days, for the Winter Wonderland Stroll.
Some kids yelled down to Santa to let him know what they wanted. Then they told him he should get back to the North Pole. 🙂
Here are a few more shots around the resort, there are a lot of wonderful photo opportunities (it's never too early to get that perfect shot for next year's Christmas cards!) The room off the lobby that looks like a living room – complete with real fire – was our favorite (3rd and 4th photos down).
We also took a brief tour of some of the areas of Shingle Creek Resort. With 1500 rooms (including 160 hospitality suites) and a lot of wonderful restaurants, it's a GREAT place for a staycation or vacation! And I found a flyer for the Rosen Shingle Creek Spa that gives information about 50% off spa treatments for the resort through 12/31. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort! For those driving there – it's pretty easy to find, about a mile off of 528 (exit 2).
