“Raya and the Last Dragon” Sand Sculpture Complete at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Photos, Video)
Hi everyone!
For the last few days, artists at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park have been creating a 40-ton sand sculpture celebrating Raya and the Last Dragon (we previewed the movie last night!) The display includes Raya, Tuk Tuk, Sisu the last dragon and the Ongi. It took a team of two artists over 24 hours to create it, I know they were working on it earlier today before I arrived. Normally we are able to catch some of the process during sand sculpture carvings but we weren’t this time around. Here are photos and video of the finished display, which is scheduled to be at the Discovery Island Stage through the end of March.
Here is our video first.
The sand sculpture for Raya and the Last Dragon has the characters around it. Raya is on the right, Sisu in the middle and Tuk Tuk on the left with the Ongi higher up.
Here is a look at Raya.
Sisu is the last dragon.
And Tuk Tuk is adorable!
Here is a look at where the sculpture can be found, next to the Discovery Trading Company.
The Ongi are above Tuk Tuk and next to Sisu.
I can’t wait for everyone to get to see the film! Raya and the Last Dragon will be in select theaters on March 5th, 2021 and also with Premier Access on Disney+ ($29.99) on that date as well.
It was a beautiful afternoon at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Stop by to see the beautiful sand sculpture if you have a chance! And of course, Raya and the Last Dragon as well on March 5th, 2021.
