10/12 New Fantasyland Open for Preview Today – Little Mermaid, Gaston’s Tavern, Ariel’s Grotto!

New Fantasyland soft opened this morning at 10am! A friend of ours was told by a Cast Member last weekend that the “walls would come down”, but I didn’t believe anything was imminent until we were told by several sources Monday to expect a soft opening today.

The area is supposed to be open from 10-6 today, and I don't know for how long after that (my best source says one week, but it could be one day, a week or more!) As with any soft opening, all hours and dates are subject to change. Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, Gaston's Tavern and Ariel's Grotto are all open!

Mousesteps has covered the Fantasyland construction more than almost any other website, we have over 100 articles and over 100 videos so far!  And we will have full coverage inside this new land. We will be pulling back from construction photos after this, to change the direction of Mousesteps a bit (more written articles, more resorts – and a smaller amount of construction).

We are really excited to see the new Fantasyland expansion! Unfortunately, we can't be there ourselves today – we are on a quick trip to photograph our friends' wedding, and tomorrow we'll be at the Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic! Our friend Daniel Andersson has been so kind to shoot some video for us previously, and he is sending us some photos and video from today. If the New Fantasyland is open Sunday, we will be there with bells on!
