7/22 Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Photo Tour – Animation Hall and Finding Nemo
I can't believe it has taken me nearly 2 months to post this! We already have a Cars section photo tour as well as videos from both sections that are now open. As each area opens at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, we'll be posting photos and video. And when the whole resort is open, I'll do a timed photo walk (which is what I normally post for each resort).
For now, this is a non-timed photo tour from the entrance of the resort to and through the Finding Nemo section! The pictures were taken over 3 or 4 different days, due to weather and always bumping into friends (which is apt to happen at resort openings!)
Before the photos, I thought I'd share a few thoughts. I think Disney's Art of Animation Resort is pretty special, and a huge upgrade from the other value resorts. My room preference so far is for the Cars section, and I have a feeling that will continue. We plan to stay one night in each section (so far we've stayed both in Nemo and Cars). It is a value resort. There is no slide or jacuzzi in any of the pool areas, and no sit-down table service restaurant. And unlike the Fort Wilderness Cabins, the family suites include a wet bar and not a fully equipped kitchen. However, kids (and adults) love visiting Mater, Lightning McQueen, and all of the other Cars characters! And the Big Blue Pool is the largest pool on property.
It was pretty excititing to finally visit Disney's Art of Animation Resort after photographing it over a nearly 2 year period from Disney's Pop Century Resort! In the front of the resort, you'll find larger-than-life artwork of Lightning McQueen, Ariel, Nemo and Simba.
Entering into Animation Hall:
I love the artwork chandelier! I hesitated using the word "chandelier" until an Imagineer also used it, but that is what it's called. Look at the way the light hits the floor! We'll see more of it on the next page.
When walking inside the lobby, there is a vibrantly colored wall of artwork to the left:
