5/10 Epcot United Kingdom Pavilion – New Queen’s Diamond Jubilee & Olympic 2012 Merchandise
Hi everyone!
We just posted an article about the new (adorable!) Mickey flip-top shampoo bottles found at Disney's All Star Music Resort in the last couple of days, and today I wanted to share new merchandise in World Showcase – specifically the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and Olympic items in the UK pavilion!
I love that Epcot's United Kingdom offers special event merchandise. In the Sportsmans Shoppe, you can currently find London Olympic merchandise – and in the Tea Caddy, you can choose something commemorating the Queen's Jubilee! Last year, guests of Epcot could celebrate William and Kate's wedding by bringing home a special souvenir. It's always worth a stop in the shops around World Showcase.
I'll also share a few other items around the countries.
The Queen's Jubilee celebrates Queen Elizabeth II's 60 years on the throne, and is being celebrated in England from June 2nd – 5th. I'm especially fond of anything made by Dunoon China. I don't own anything by the company – but there are very nice pieces around the year at the Tea Caddy (my favorites are the Christmas fine bone china cups). There are also coasters, magnets, key chains, and more available.
I think it's a pretty nice way to remember a visit to Epcot!
I've had the opportunity to go to one Olympics – it was relatively easy, because it was close (about 8 hours away in Atlanta), and we camped in a motorhome – cheaply. This year, London is presenting the summer Olympic games, and it's very possible I'll pick up an Olympic shirt at the Sportsman's Shoppe at Epcot. I had temporarily thought that the Diamond Jubilee merchandise replaced the Olympic items, but I just remembered while writing they are actually in two different stores.
And here are a few other items around World Showcase. I posted the Germany t-shirts a couple of months ago, but I like the Dopey one so much that I thought these two shirts deserved a repeat visit.
There is a lot of great Metro merchandise in the France Pavilion (my favorite city in the world so far!), but this was new to me – a Remy Chef's hat.
This last item comes from Canada. I was surprised it didn't say "dammed" as a play on words…
Do you like merchandise updates like this? I find World Showcase especially great for fun, unique items that you can't find elsewhere. And you'll often even find fun Disney merchandise, like the Dopey and Grumpy shirts above, or the "It's a Troll World After All" merchandise line in Norway.
