Blizzard Beach Water Park Scheduled to Reopen March 7, 2021
Hi everyone!
Disney announced today that Blizzard Beach water park is scheduled to reopen on March 7th, 2021. The park first opened to the public on April 1st, 1995 and this spring will mark Blizzard Beach’s 25th year. The Disney Parks Blog shared 7 reasons to be excited for the reopening, and I’m just sharing a few of them here.
Summit Plummet is a 120-foot-tall waterslide with a near-vertical drop. Guests accelerate up to 65 mph on the slide, making it one of the fastest attractions at Walt Disney World.
The first chairlift in Florida was built at Blizzard Beach! The chairlift was built to ferry guests to the top of Mount Gushmore. There are wonderful views when taking this lift.
And for those of us who are more into lazy rivers than slides, Disney says that Cross Country Creek ranks among the longest lazy rivers in the country at 3000 feet. One journey around the river can take 20-30 minutes!
I am sure that there are a lot of guests looking forward to the reopening of Blizzard Beach – especially as we approach the summer. In early March, it might live up to its theme (and the photo above with mittens and Ice Gator’s mailbox!)
