Stormalong Bay Update at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts from February 6, 2025
Hi everyone!
The Stormalong Bay closure at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts continues, with the refurbishment expected to last through June 2025, according to the Walt Disney World website.
We have over 25 photos to share from yesterday!
The Shipwreck Pool and slide are also part of the closure. We walked over to Disney’s Yacht Club from EPCOT for lunch and took some photos of the refurbishment around the complex.
Two tents are set up along the walkway.
We walked past the large shipwreck slide. Also, there is a lot more shrubbery in key areas to keep guests from seeing as much of the construction, so we have fewer (or no) photos in those locations. That includes along much of the walkway here, and near Beaches and Cream. But there was also a lot of open area to view the work.
More water has been drained around Stormalong Bay since our last visit here over 10 days ago.
Here is a wider look at the area, with Disney’s Yacht Club in the background. The windmill that is part of Stormalong Bay is to the right.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is in the background here.
We walked to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
Here is a view from the resort of work being done. Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre complex that Disney calls a “750,000-gallon, beachside wonderland”. It has long been thought of as the best pool area at Walt Disney World, ever since it opened.
The Walt Disney World website says about the closure, From January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim at the Tidal, Admiral and Dunes Cove leisure pools.
There is still some water, but less than before.
Here is the backside of the windmill.
Some pavement had already been removed.
The Jacuzzi tubs had been emptied weeks ago when the refurbishment began.
The shipwreck slide can be seen in the background.
Here are more photos from yesterday.
Will you be visiting Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts during the Stormalong Bay closure? The resorts are so close to EPCOT and make a great base for festivals.
We do recommend our travel partner Mouse Fan Travel for booking your Walt Disney World vacation. They can help you decide what resort is best for your needs.
Thanks for the updates and photos. We are staying early June until the 12th hoping we catch the opening during our trip
