Flying Carpets over Agrabah Reopens at Disneyland Paris After Refurbishment

Flying Carpets Over Agrabah (Les Tapis Volants) has reopened at Disneyland Paris after a lengthy refurbishment. The attraction officially opens on November 9th, but it was open to guests yesterday (November 6th). Flying Carpets Over Agrabah is located in Walt Disney Studios Park, which will eventually be Disney Adventure World when World of Frozen opens.
Quite a lot of work was done on Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, including repainting of carpets, and a lighting and audio update.

It is time for Disneyland Paris guests to fly to a whole new world again! On Saturday, November 9th 2024, the attraction Les Tapis Volants – Flyings Carpets over Agrabah will officially open again after a 10-month rehabilitation.
During that time, Walt Disney Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams collaborated with Disneyland Paris maintenance and central workshops teams to improve guests’ comfort and safety, while enhancing this historical attraction from Walt Disney Studios Park celebrating the beloved animated Disney movie Aladdin released in 1992 in the United States.
This refurbishment touched the repainting of carpets, structure and décor, a lighting and audio update, and the creation of new props hinting to the animated movie in the queue. Every piece of the central structure has been carefully renovated by Disneyland Paris’ central workshops teams.
The tribute to the animated classic shows in a few details, like the floor refurbishment with a new pavement that now looks like the desert surrounding Agrabah both in shape and colors. In the attraction’s queue and decor, it can be noticed that on the left, the adorned columns, lotus flowers and the golden Cast Member booth remind the Sultan’s palace, while on the right the wooden pillars and tables full of fruits baskets and carpets conjure the marketplace where Aladdin meets Princess Jasmine for the first time.
The sharpest eyes will also notice the golden scarab beetle hidden in details, a wink to the magical artefact that reveals the location of the Cave of Wonders. Will you find them all?
