Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

7/28 Bonnet Creek Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Hotels Orlando (near Walt Disney World)

Hi everyone!

Last week we had the opportunity to tour the beautiful Bonnet Creek Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Orlando hotels, centrally located within Disney property (though not on Disney property). We hope to do a photo walk of the properties in the future, but I’m thrilled to be able to share photos from the resorts, including a suite from each.

These are both deluxe resorts in every sense of the word, and sit near the top of the Trip Advisor hotel reviews for Orlando. I was drawn to the expansive pool area at the Hilton, which features a winding lazy river – one of the nicest pools I’ve seen in the Orlando area.

The Hilton and Waldorf Astoria are close to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Typhoon Lagoon, there is another Hilton nearby at Downtown Disney, but it’s not the same. The Bonnet Creek Hilton and Waldorf Astoria do not have Magical Express or Early Entry into the parks, but they are priced closer to a moderate resort and you get a lot of bang for the buck. They also have transportation to the Walt Disney World theme parks.

Our tour was given by Doriana and Keith, and we met them in the lobby of the Hilton. Guests can pick up a newspaper here, and there was information on the Pure rooms for those who have allergies.

We were told that there was a French chef who creates these wonderful delights at the Muse coffee bar. The cupcakes look nearly too artistic to eat!

We were treated to a wonderful lunch at the Harvest Bistro. I ordered the hamburger ($14) and Jeff had a lobster BLT ($16). The prices are a little higher than some restaurants at Walt Disney World (the quality is higher too, IMHO). Kids 12 and under eat free for breakfast and dinner. Not only one child, but two for each paying adult!  It’s a tremendous value for familes with kids who want a nice table service meal. We really enjoyed our food, and I’ve read great things about the buffet meals here. Getting back to my meal – the hamburger was one of the best burgers I’ve had anywhere in recent memory, and I was told that each restaurant had it’s own burger (the restaurants like to try to better each other and create the best one).  I wish I’d taken photos of our meals, that is normally the case – but we were talking and enjoying the food too much!
