Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort DVC Island Tower Construction Photos from July 2024
Hi everyone!
I have over 30 Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort DVC Island Tower construction photos to share from this week. A few days ago, I took photos from the Seven Seas Lagoon side, and yesterday from the monorail. The new addition is scheduled to open on December 17th, 2024 at Walt Disney World, and you can see the various room types here. Jeff and I have both been visiting Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort since the 1970s and are looking forward to seeing the Island Tower when it opens.
The first photos I took were from the boat dock at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. You can see the 10-story tower appearing beyond the Tuvalu longhouse.
There were a number of cranes up around the Island Tower.
Tarps can be seen at the top of the building.
There are also permanent railings being installed outside each guest room. I will have a closer look from the monorail further down in the article.
I was still at the boat dock.
It looks like some painting is still going on in this location.
I was taking the boat to the Magic Kingdom, so it allowed me for more photos from this side.
This structure is for a bar/restaurant as seen in concept art.
Windows can be seen inside.
I arrived to the Magic Kingdom and had the view of the Island Tower from the monorail station with Disney’s Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion in the foreground.
Yesterday, we took the monorail past the new building.
There is some paving that has happened since our last time photographing.
The railings can be seen at many balconies.
Most still have a covering on them.
A lot of work seems to be concentrated at the front entrance.
There is a view of the pool construction coming up.
The pool area and spa are being built here.
And here is one last photo from yesterday!
What do you think of this new Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort DVC Island Tower so far?
