This is one of a number of interesting Disney Little Golden Book titles this year, also including ‘Tron‘, ‘Frankenweenie‘ and ‘Disneyland is Your Land‘ for the 70th Anniversary! I am not making all of those titles separate for the article, but each of them are going to be on our bookshelves this year.

Chronicle Books is known for the wonderful ‘Art of’ Disney books, as well as the well-reviewed ‘The Color of Pixar‘ from 2017, which we do own. This book celebrates the 30th Anniversary of ‘Toy Story’.

I have most of the Official Disney Parks Cookbooks, so it will be an easy purchase for me. There are quite a few images shown on Amazon, so you can know what to expect from the book.

I a a big fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas, and have been looking forward to this book.

This Disney book is created in cooperation with the Walt Disney Family Museum, and showcases Walt’s love for trains with “more than 200 artifacts, firsthand accounts of Walt’s passion for the craft, archival videos, images of Walt and his trains, and actual model trains running throughout The Walt Disney Family Museum’s exhibit”.

Walt Disney’s Trains: A Grand Circle Tour Through His Life and Legacy reveals a part of Walt’s life that, although not widely known, is nevertheless well documented, exploring how railroading influenced Walt’s films, theme parks, and personal life, as well as how Walt, in turn, influenced the perception of railroading in America.
8 – Disney The Art of Zootopia 2 – October 28, 2025 from Chronicle Books.
This is one of two ‘The Art of’ Disney books coming this year from Chronicle Books. The other is ‘The Art of Elio‘, which I can’t wait for as well. Each book gives great insight into the film it is about, with artwork, storyboards, and more. We have been collecting these books for a long time.

10 – Worlds to Conquer: The Art & Making of Walt Disney’s Fantasia – November 11, 2025 by J.B. Kaufman.
The date for this Disney book has been changed a number of times, I hope we will see it release this year! November 2025 is the 85th anniversary month for the classic animated film Fantasia.

The third in the Disney “Making of” series is the story of Disney’s most ambitious, monumental work. The concept: the world’s greatest music, presented according to the highest acoustic standard, and illustrated by the brilliance of the Disney studio at the height of its powers. 11 – Making Disney Magic . . . from a Mermaid to Moana: Tales of a Disney Animation Director – December 16th, 2025 by Ron Clements with the foreword by John Musker. The two have created move magic for so many years, including “The Little Mermaid” and “Hercules”.

An engaging story of 45 magical years of Disney animation, featuring nearly 500 museum-quality, full-color pages and 1,000+ pieces of archival artwork and photos. The corners of this smaller-than-typical coffee table book also serve as an animation flip-book celebrating Disney characters from the 1970s–2010s.
