New EPCOT Festival of the Arts Chalk Art on Display Includes Kronk, Deadpool & Orange Bird

Hi everyone!

New EPCOT Festival of the Arts chalk art on display yesterday included Kronk with Yzma from “The Emperor’s New Groove”, along with Deadpool, Orange Bird, Goofy and more! EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs through February 24th, 2025 and the chalk art is probably my favorite aspect of the event. There was a lot of rain last week, and I was told that the area for rainy days is at the Imagination Pavilion near the Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival.

Here is some of the wonderful chalk art that was out yesterday. The one thing about chalk art, it changes all the time. The pieces are very temporary.

Kronk and Yzma ride the roller coaster together in this amazing 3D art from Chris Carlson.

The clouds lend some real depth to the piece.

Kronk throws up his hands in glee as Yzma looks determined.

This would make a great ride in one of the Walt Disney World parks.

Guests can step into the artwork for a photo as well. I didn’t have Jeff with me, so I didn’t do that (you have to be at opposite sides of the large piece of art).

Leigh was creating Goofy while I was there. Leigh has been chalking Disney art since EPCOT International Festival of the Arts debuted in 2017 and was the only artist able to do so (except for Nate Baranowski, who handles some of the 3D art). This year, all of the artists are able to chalk Disney.

Also, for the first time, most chalk art at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts is Disney themed.

Goofy holds his hands up and sticks his tongue out.

On the other side of the sidewalk from where the artists were chalking, there was a full line of artwork already finished.

I am not sure if this is a hornbill, but it’s a beautiful piece by S. Deutsch.

Thanos is up next by Whitney Perkins.

Miles Morales stands out with buildings in the background.

The Orange Bird is painting Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room pieces.

RHawk chalked the Partners statue with Walt and Mickey, plus Cinderella Castle with a floral foreground.

The same artist also created this lovely EPCOT scene with a monorail beam and Spaceship Earth. Unlike one they previously chalked with a monorail, they let the beam stand by itself here.

Deadpool looks to be creating some art as well, with a yellow piece of chalk in hand as he works on Wolverine (there is also Mickey and Figment here). Jan P created this.

Hades looks amused in this art from Brin.

Leigh chalked Tinker Bell.

Hailey chalked this piece similar to August Macke’s  ‘Promenade’. You can find more than one hidden Mickey here.

This piece is based on Thomas Gainsborough’s “Blue Boy” and the subject wears a Mickey.

Leigh also chalked this Captain Hook in a green circle.

What do you think of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts chalk art? I am always amazed by the talent of all the artists and I always look forward to seeing what they’ve put down on the pavement.
