McKim’s Mile House DVC Lounge Construction Update from January 24th at Magic Kingdom
Hi everyone!
McKim’s Mile House will be the first-ever Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge at Magic Kingdom park, and we have a look at current construction from the Liberty Belle riverboat as of yesterday. The location (formerly the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade) is scheduled to open by summer 2025 in Frontierland as a “space of rest and refreshment” for eligible Members and their guests.
I had not noticed the yellow sheathing here during other trips around the Liberty Belle. The construction walls are still up and say “New Frontiers Await”.
There is a box that was open in front of the building.
Windows can be seen in the photos, along with the sheathing.
Disney Vacation Club says about the location, Nestled in the heart of Frontierland in Magic Kingdom park, Disney Vacation Club McKim’s Mile House – A Member Lounge offers a cozy and convenient retreat for Members to share stories and recharge during their day of fun. Experience the rustic charm of a space inspired by the adventurous spirit of exploration from a bygone era.
The lounge will include comfortable seating, complimentary soft drinks, and a children’s entertainment area (according to the Disney Vacation Club website).
The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade still is shown on the Walt Disney World website, but it closed last June.
The future Frontierland Disney Vacation Club lounge is next to the Frontier Trading Post.
McKim’s Mile House is named after Disney Legend Sam McKim, who would have turned 100 last year.
Here is a wider look at the area.

What do you think about McKim’s Mile House opening this year in Frontierland?
Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom is undergoing a lot of changes in 2025. Currently, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed for refurbishment through sometime in 2026, with a “little bit of new magic” coming. The Rivers of America is scheduled to close at some point, along with Tom Sawyer Island and of course, the Liberty Belle riverboat so that new Pixar “Cars” attractions can eventually move in, as well as a new Disney Villains Land.
