Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

Stormalong Bay Refurbishment Update from January 24th, 2025 at Walt Disney World (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

We have a new Stormalong Bay refurbishment update from January 24th, 2025 at Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts in Walt Disney World. The Stormalong Bay closure began earlier this month, and this is our third update.

The Stormalong Bay closure (along with the Shipwreck Pool and slide) is expected to extend into sometime in June, as is noted on the Walt Disney World website. Stormalong Bay is a very popular 3-acre water park with lazy river, and is certainly the best pool complex owned by Walt Disney World.

Here is our video, followed by photos.

The Shipwreck slide is ahead, and is closed along with Stormalong Bay. There is some seating for guests on the beach nearby.

On the other side of the walkway, the signage has been up for the closure for at least two weeks now.

There has been quite a bit of work happening since our Stormalong Bay update last week.

Bushes have been rolled in to keep guests from seeing as much of the work from the walkway looking toward the Shipwreck slide.

Crescent Lake is still viewable from the walkway in some areas, with work visibly ramping up here.

Much of Stormalong Bay has been drained, with sand taken out.

Rocking chairs look out onto the refurbishment.

Here is a look out from that location.

Sand is piled up.

The iconic windmill can be seen, and water still fills the pool nearby.

Plants line the walls near Beaches & Cream Soda Shop.

The plants have been between the tables and the pool previously. It looks a lot nicer this way, even with work going on.

A tent is over one of the Jacuzzi tubs.

Pavement has been ripped up in a number of areas.

A vehicle was removing pavement.

Here are a couple of more photos from today.

Also, white covering was over some plants today due to the cold. It always is interesting to me in that it reminds me of snow.

What do you think of the Stormalong Bay refurbishment?
