First Disney Character Chalk Art Appears for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2025

Hi everyone!

The first Disney character chalk art has appeared for EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2025! The event kicks off today (January 17th) and runs through February 24th, 2025. The chalk art is one of my favorite aspects of the event, as artists make the sidewalk a canvas for colorful designs – and not just Disney artwork.

When we arrived to the park, the artists had not yet arrived for the day. I will post more about them later. There were four pieces of chalk cart already created, including Mickey Mouse and Moana.

Guests were enjoying the artwork on the bridge to World Showcase as we walked through.

Leigh has been creating Disney chalk art at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts every year since it began. You can find her on Instagram sharing her chalk creations (and the dates she will be here, including opening day). She is the only one who has chalked Disney art through the years except for Nate Baranowski, who has been at the Festival each year with amazing 3D chalk art on weekends.

One of two pieces she has created is this colorful Mickey Mouse. The thing about chalk art is that it never lasts for too long, so art will be different during the festival as the artists create.

Leigh also chalked this fantastic Moana piece. Moana is wearing her dress from Moana 2, as well as a necklace. The ocean is behind her.

Marisa Alvarado created this Ant-Man artwork. She is on Facebook and will be chalking for 6 dates (and she is creating characters this year as well).

Most of the artists don’t chalk Disney. This artist created a piece titled “After Veermeer” and is based on Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring”.

However, I just noticed her earring looks a little different. Do you see a hidden Mickey?

We will post more about the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts from our visit today and in the coming days!

Will you be visiting the festival this year?
