Baby Otters Born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park
Hi everyone!
A litter of baby otters was recently born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. Mother Mae is an Asian small-clawed otter, which is the smallest of the 13 otter species.
There are at least three baby otters in these Instagram photos by Dr. Mark Penning, who is Vice President of Animals, Science and Environment at Disney Parks and Experiences.

Penning says that the otters are already showing their unique charm, and “over the next few months, they will reach key milestones, like opening their eyes, trying solid foods, and learning to swim.”
The baby otters are being watched by the animal care team, and they are still backstage with mom and dad Kevin. These cuties will be on Discovery Island soon!
I can’t wait to see these new otters when they make their public debut at the park.
